Underwater World Scuba
Opportunity
Since 1997, Underwater World has been Cincinnati’s largest dive facility complete with retail space, training classrooms, repair shop, and Olympic-sized heated pool.
A primary goal was to promote dive travel. Database-driven iteneraries make last minute travel changes a snap.
The owners wanted to establish credibility as a provider of brand name scuba equipment that both safe and durable. Instructors (and a grandson) were photograhed wearing their scuba gear, then superimposed onto background of their favorite dive spots.
Engagement
Dive communities are built around travel, education and equipment.
For the dive trip albums, a user can click any thumbnail to open a full sized photo and click through a slideshow.
Using databases for class schedules allows completed class schedules to automatically drop off without human intervention.
Most dive equipment is available only from manufacturers, so the site provides advice and quick links to named brand manufacturers.
