Community of the Good Shepherd : Internet Marketing Project

The Community of the Good Shepherd wanted a promotional marketing plan to promote a series of workshops for the Family Life ministry named Connections. They needed branding that would draw both adults and children, and get families excited about participating.

ActiveCanvas designed a series of marketing pieces around a set of hand-drawn family members (and pets) with photo cutout ‘heads’ having a thought bubble about prayer and church in the home. To kick off the program, ActiveCanvas created a PURL Campaign (Personalized URL) consisting of a personalized webpage where the family could sign up for the various workshops online. To bring them to their personalized webpage, we designed a postcard using variable printing techniques that placed the family’s name on their postcard and invited them to visit their website address.

On the respondent’s personalized web page, they could sign up for any of 5 events. A custom PURL dashboard enabled Good Shepherd staff to see who followed through on the postcard mailer and who signed up for the events. It enabled the staff to collect permission-based email addresses that could be used in the future to promote new events or follow up with the family respondents.
